The practice dates back more than 2,500 years and encompasses deep philosophy and promotes self-awareness, strength, perseverance, compassion, patience and love. With yoga, you connect your mind and your body, breath and movement. If you want to gain the full benefits, don’t reduce it to being just a way to get a six-pack or a tight butt.
