I really, really like this book, so much that I bought it in print as well as Kindle formats. This is a clear presentation of text and illustrations, respectful of yoga practice and traditions as well as the beginner to yoga. While I am not exactly a beginner, I am a seeker of information and insight and this book offers both in a very accessible way. My family owns a lot of yoga books and videos and we have a yoga teacher in the family and even so, I find myself happily turning to this book as a yoga companion. It is a terrific addition to the yoga library, print and/or video, and I highly recommend it. One more point about the illustrations: I love that they are clear and obvious for the pose, showing the body in a simplistic way that allows one to easily visualize the pose. They are line drawings but not stick drawings and so they are easy to "see." I also like that they are illustrations, not photographs because, as said, they really allow one to see the pose without distraction and with clarity. The book is very well organized, again showing respect and encouragement for the reader/practioner/learner. Well done, Cory Martin! With all my sincere praise for this book, I do hope that Cory Martin will produce a DVD of similar quality; it would no doubt be worth having, too.
